Project Intent | Supplement to a Current Standard |
Project Need | Templates, Structured Documents and Clinical Decision Support workgroups have created a number of specifications that include metadata about published artifacts: Quality Measures, Templates, Quality Measure Documents, Order Sets, Clinical Knowledge, CDS Interventions, et cetera. No single conceptual model for metadata exists within the HL7 family of specifications. There is a great deal of common information that has been reworked across HL7 specifications. The purpose of this project is to identify a common model that can be used to derive and implement metadata information in D-MIMs and Logical Models in a consistent manner for HL7 specifications impacting Clinical Quality Improvement initiatives. |

Dependancies | Some of the existing work that this project will be developing requirements from are projects already in flight. New metadata requirements may be introduced by these projects before final publications. CQI will notify existing project owners of this effort, and will incorporate changes as need be. However, we cannot predict which of these projects dependencies are truly present. |
