Objectives / Deliverables | The project objective is to develop a Vital Records Domain Analysis Model (VR DAM) for birth and death registration. The VR DAM will identify the stakeholders and work flow for birth and death registration to guide the design and implementation efforts for transmitting data and records between U.S. vital records systems and other public and private information systems to meet current and emerging needs. The VR DAM will also provide a representation of the data elements that need to be supported for birth and death registration. This is foundational work that may be expanded in the future to include international considerations. Project Deliverables: Vital Records Domain Analysis Model (Birth and Death) including: - Activity Model for birth and for death registration - Information Model for birth and death registration - Vocabulary specifications including needed concept domains and illustrative contents of needed value sets |

Misc Notes | April 18, 2011: The TSC approved the publication of Informative Document HL7 Version 3 Domain Analysis Model: Vital Records, via TSC Tracker # 1891. Emailed cochairs to see if this project can be closed; Michelle Williamson confirmed it can be closed. March 2011: PHER plans on submitting a Request to Publish form to the TSC. Feb 2011: From M. Williamson: I need to make some changes to the Storyboards that we included in the VR DAM to address Don's negative comments. Once that's done, I plan to submit them to Don to see if he will withdraw his negative vote. I hope to have this resolve by the end of March including the work to post the recon package. I will also need to provide Don Lloyd with the updated VR DAM that includes the edits we made based on the ballot comments. Roadmap Project #4 (one of many) 2010Sept: updated project URL |
