Mission
The HL7 Education Work Group ensures the quality and availability of education and learning deliverables provided by HL7 International and nurtures a community of HL7 educators.
The objective of the Education Work Group is to allow all those involved in delivering HL7 education and learning services to develop the quality and availability of education and learning deliverables.
Charter
HL7 International depends on the effectiveness of HL7 education and learning activities throughout the world. These activities advance the use, acceptance and implementation of HL7 standards, and help the organization to develop and maintain an active HL7 membership.
The Education Work Group operates via the HL7 web-site, a dedicated list-server, conference calls and meetings at HL7 working group meetings. All HL7 educators are encouraged to participate in the Education Work Group. Meetings will be arranged to support international participation.
Work Products and Contributions to HL7 Processes
The HL7 Education Work Group develops and administers the HL7 education and learning curricula.
The following are the Work Group’s formal activities:
o Provide and schedule tutorials and other educational offerings
o Conduct certification
o Evaluate results of tutorials and certifications
o Coordinate review of Continuing Medical Education unit feedback
o Development and maintenance of the HL7 International Educational Strategic Plan
Formal Relationships With Other HL7 Groups
· Marketing Council - collaboration on development of an enterprise-wide education strategic plan.
· HL7 International Council - Coordinate education efforts
· HL7 Board of Directors Finance Committee – Coordinate the means by which HL7’s educational objectives are funded
