Dues for organizational members are tiered according to type of organization and annual income or expenditure. Dues for the supplier category, which includes vendors, consultants, pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers, are based on annual healthcare revenue. Dues for the payer category are based on gross annual revenue, while dues for healthcare providers are based on annual IT budget. The number of members assigned to your organization increases in proportion to your membership dues. In addition to all the benefits of individual membership, organizational membership includes benefits that can be used by many members of your organization:

Upgrading Organizational Memberships

Organizational memberships can be upgraded to Supporter or Benefactor memberships at any time. Credit for the remaining prorated membership dues will be applied to the Supporter or Benefactor membership dues. Please contact our office for additional information and assistance in upgrading your membership.

Pricing

There are several different categories of memberships for organizational members.

The consultant category is for organizations that provide advice, support, and consultation services, but do not sell products or systems which relate to, use, or incorporate HL7 protocol specifications.

The government agencies, professional associations and universities category is for professional associations and societies, industry consortia, regulators, government agencies and universities. Membership is for employees only and doesn’t extend to members of the association or consortia.

The payer category is for use by health maintenance organizations (HMO), preferred provider organizations (PPO), third-party administrators (TPA), insurers and payers.

The pharmaceutical category is a special classification created to support organizational membership by pharmaceutical organizations.

The provider category includes organizational entities such as hospitals, physician practices, physician group practices, and academic faculty practices.

The vendor category is for organizations that produces, or sells, products or systems that relate to, use, or incorporate HL7 Protocol Specifications.

The price for membership varies depending on which category the member's organization falls into, and also by the organization's revenue or expenditures. Please consult the pricing table below to determine your organization's annual membership costs:
