Chief Technology Officer - John Quinn

A founding member of Health Level Seven, John Quinn has served as the organization's Chief Technology Officer of Health Level Seven since September 2007. Quinn is also a Senior Executive, Chief Technology Officer, and Thought Leader in Accenture’s Health & Life Science's Provider Practice focusing on healthcare information system's technologies, architectures and data and messaging standards and serves in his role in part through a signification contribution by Accenture. He has an extensive background in information systems planning, development, support and systems integration; provider HIT vendor architectures; vendor and systems evaluations; and hardware and software implementations. He has more than 32 and 35 years experience in the healthcare IT and computer industries respectively. As an HL7 Board member since 1987, Quinn's HL7 experience included acting as the organization’s second Board chair and serving as the chair of its Technical Steering Committee from 1989 – 2007. Quinn was named chair of the newly formed SDO Charter Organization (SCO), which aims to increase coordination and collaboration on healthcare informatics standards development among SDOs.
