HL7 ActiveX Control v1.0
This document will explain how to use the HL7 ActiveX Control v1.0. The HL7 ActiveX Control is used to simplify the complicated task of parsing HL7 messages. The HL7 control is based on the work that Allen Rueter did with his implementation of hl7imexa. The HL7 control is used by application developers who what to process HL7 messages in an easy and efficient manner. The control supports the creation of HL7 messages and the parsing of HL7 messages. The HL7 ActiveX control has support for TCP/IP, so the developer can send and receive HL7 messages over the network. When using TCP/IP support, the developer has the ability to include envelope support where the HL7 message has a start character indicator and an end character indicator. Below is a list of options:
Create HL7 Messages
Parse HL7 Messages
Dynamic Message Building
Reads message rules from file
Reads segment definition from file
TCP/IP Support
Client mode
Server mode
Client/Server mode
Envelop Start Character
Envelop End Character
