The Interface Developer will be responsible for working with EHRs and laboratory systems on interface development with Michigan public health systems. This is a FT, salaried, position; and the work can be completed remotely.

Responsibilities • Interface Development o Work with EHRs and laboratory systems on interface development with public health systems o Create use case specific implementation guides in accordance with HL7 standards o Design and develop Rhapsody routes for message and CDA validation and processing o Monitor existing production messaging systems. o Work with health information exchanges to bring data into Michigan public health systems.
• Maintain and enhance several Michigan Public Health Interfaces. This includes: o Requirements gathering o System design o Implementation o Testing o Maintenance

• Three or more years of relevant experience. • In-depth experience with Health Level Seven (HL7) standards • Experience with the Orion Rhapsody Interface Engine. Experience with other interface engines such as Mirth, Cloverleaf, etc. would also be considered. • Prefer candidate with hands-on technical experience with XML, scripting languages and/or programming languages. • Candidates should be interested in all areas of interface development, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies. • Proficient in Microsoft Office software/computer programs.
• Preferred candidate with a Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline.
