HL7 Version 3 Standard: Transport Specification – ebXML Using ebMS 2.0, Release 1
DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the ebXML message wrapper is to provide a secure, flexible transport for exchanging HL7 messages and other content, and potentially other message formats, between message handling interfaces or ebXML Message Service Handlers (ebXML MSH over a variety of lower level transports such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP and others. The ebXML "Message Service Specification Version 2.0 1 April 2002" includes appendices describing the requirements for transport of the messages and wrappers over HTTP and SMTP. This document includes a section titled "2.0 Simple Secure Authenticated TCP Transport" which provides the mechanisms for exchanging the ebXML messages via TCP/IP.
