Certification - HOST Testing Centers

HL7 certification exams are offered electronically by Webassessor, a product of Kryterion, HL7's professional testing.service. Kryterion has over 800 testing locations at High Stakes Online Testing  (HOST) centers throughout the world.

Scheduling Your Exam

Please register for an exam from the HL7 Certification home page using the Registration button at the bottom of the screen. Once your application has been successfully processed approximately 10 business days after it is submitted, you will receive an emailed confirmation. This email will include log-in information to access your account in Webassessor and a voucher code that allows you to schedule your exam time, date and location. After you make an appointment to sit for an exam, a confirmation is emailed from Webassessor with instructions about identification requirements for in-person testing at Kryterion's HOST centers.

Any changes or cancellations to a scheduled exam must be made at least 72 hours before the day of the exam. A change fee of $95 USD will be assessed for changes or cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice. Please see HL7's Electronic Testing Policy for complete details. Prepaid registrants that cancel your exam within the 72 hours will receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. 

Check-in at Testing Location

Test-takers are required to provide a photo ID and a Testing Confirmation to the Proctor prior to admittance to the testing area. All test-takers are required to sign a log-in sheet for signature verification. Test-takers will not be allowed to bring personal items into the testing area including handbags, phones, earphones, paper, books, iPods®, or other electronic devices to ensure a secure testing environment. Proctors will provide any testing aids such as pencils and scratch paper.
