As we explore the resources, we will discuss nuances such as maturity, flags and patterns that can help inform your design choices as you apply FHIR to technology solutions in healthcare.

Upon completion of this online class, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe and compare the categories of resources in the FHIR
  • Discuss the different kinds of FHIR resources available and how they support healthcare interoperability
  • Explore how FHIR resources are interrelated
  • Interpret nuances in FHIR resource documentation such as maturity, flags, and patterns
  • Discuss and select resources for a specific use case

Prerequisites

  • Introduction to FHIR or equivalent 
  • Everyone is expected to have a basic knowledge of FHIR. Additional knowledge in either healthcare domain, health IT, software development or HL7 standards development will enhance the participants's participation.
