HL7 Makes Meetings More Accessible for
Students
HL7 meetings can be a great way for students to learn more about
informatics and the role of standards in healthcare. HL7 now offers
two ways to make these meetings more financially accessible to
students.
50% Discount for Student Members
HL7 offers a 50 percent discount on meeting and tutorial fees
for full-time college or university students enrolled in an informatics
program. To receive this discount, students should be sure to indicate
their student status on the registration form, provide the name
of the university they're attending and also provide their student
identification number.
Fill-in the information below and follow the instructions
that follow if you want to register with discounted fees. Your
registration and discounted fees are due by the Early Bird registration
deadline, December 10.
Fees Waived for Sponsored Student Volunteers
HL7's student sponsorship policy allows meeting and registration
fees to be waived for full-time students who are sponsored by an
HL7 member and who also perform volunteer work for the organization.
To qualify, students must be enrolled in an informatics program
at a college or university and sponsored by an HL7 member. Students
may perform ongoing work for a specific HL7 technical committee
(taking minutes, helping edit the standard, writing white papers
or providing other assistance as requested) or assist at meetings
(helping at the registration desk, developing/editing presentation
slides, etc.) To receive these discounts, students must provide
proof of enrollment and a letter of acknowledgement from their
HL7 sponsor when registering. Students who would like to participate
in this program who do not yet have an HL7 sponsor can contact
HL7 Headquarters ((734) 677-7777 or HQ@HL7.org)
to be matched with a sponsor no later than December 10.
Fill-in the information below and follow the instructions that
follow if you want to register with waived fees.
