HL7 Partners in Interoperability

We all share a common goal of creating a truly interoperable national healthcare system that leads to better patient care and improved outcomes. While we have collectively made considerable progress toward that goal in recent years, we are still some distance away from the finish line.

HL7 believes that we can achieve the healthcare system that we all envision if we work collaboratively and incrementally to address and resolve the barriers that stand in our way. We also believe that HL7's Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) standard will play a major role in breaking down the current barriers to interoperability. In support of that vision, we launched the Partners in Interoperability program.

Why should I attend?

Partners in Interoperability is an ongoing program designed to convene c-suite and senior decision makers in order to drive progress on specific interoperability challenges. The meetings are not connectathons or coding sessions. Instead, participants should be willing to commit ongoing time and resources to identify desired business outcomes, describe specific activities necessary to accomplish those outcomes, and to work toward removing any barriers that need to be overcome. If you have specific interoperability issues that you would like to see addressed at a future meeting, submit your comments to: interopchallenge@HL7.org.
