The HL7 GForge HelpDesk is intended to provide general support for individuals wanting to use the HL7 GForge site. It is your primary point of contact for any technical questions related to the use of the HL7 GForge. The HL7 GForge/SVN platform is hosted by the GForge Group, LLC. The HL7 GForge site is intended to:
Serve as a central resource point for publishing, downloading, maintenance and support of non-commercial HL7 tools.
Provide a tool for other HL7 Work Group to manage project artifacts.
Simplify and coordinate the tooling and other committee maintenance processes by providing standardized mechanisms for requesting features, reporting defects and requesting support.
Support HL7 tool users in reporting issues with tools and tracking their resolution.
Enable release management and version control for tools and other Work Group artifacts.

Yes. The HL7 GForge is available to the public most of the time.
You can request one from the HL7 GForge site at the URL: http://gforge.hl7.org/.
You will need to fill out one of the Homebase Project Request Forms applicable to your project and submit it to the homebasecoordinator@hl7.org.
Usually, it takes about three (3) business days for the project to be created in the HL7 GForge.

Yes. The Tooling Work Group has produced a documentation called GForge for Dummies. You can download a copy from this Link.
No. You can use your HL7 GForge account to log-on to the HL7 SVN repositories.
You can now access the HL7 SVN repositories by using a URL of the format: http://gforge.hl7.org/svn/*projectname*. You should replace the *projectname* with the name of your project. For example, if you want to access a project called saeaf in the HL7 SVN repositories via TortoiseSVN, Subclipse, Eclipse or IBM Rational Software Modeler, then you will use the URL: http://gforge.hl7.org/svn/saeaf.

There is no expiration date for your HL7 GForge account.
No. The HL7 GForge is configured to disallow anonymous postings. You must be a registered user before you can submit postings.
Yes. With the exception of Work Group projects, all projects registered in the HL7 GForge are configured to use the generic listserv: homebase@lists.hl7.org for tracking purposes. Users subscribed to this listserv would be able to receive all updates and submissions of Bugs, Support Requests and/or Feature Requests. Work Group projects are configured to use their assigned/default list services.
