EPA@med is a fully XML
based distributed medical record for provider groups and patients with extensive security
solutions. It is capeable of combining data in several data standards from providers and
can also act as a directory storing active links into other systems (e.g. PACS) where more
information about that patient is stored. It builds therefore a virtual medical record.
Itīs build on top of SQL 7.0 and uses several different security technologies to build a
robust solution. It internally handles all data based on XML and can work with any kind of
XML documents (PRA, "direct" mapping of other standards like HL72.3 or xDT
(German Standard), self-developed data models (eg. in clinical trails) etc.)
