Education, identified as a root cause issue by the ORC, is critical to the successful acceptance of V3 around the world. HL7 depends on the effectiveness of HL7 education and learning activities throughout the world to develop an active HL7 membership. The HL7 Education Committee has focused on providing educational summits and working group meeting tutorials in the USA only. International affiliates have a variety of education initiatives from university courses, web-based training and seminars. At present there is little collaboration between the international affiliates, HL7 educators and the HL7 Education committee.
During the San Antonio working group International (May 2004) meeting the current state of education was discussed with the decision to work with the education committee to address some of the international concerns and requirements.
This proposal is to develop an Educators' Forum to allow all those involved in delivering HL7 education and learning services to exchange ideas and develop consensus deliverables relating to education and learning
Mission/Charter
